Notes consists of a series of medium-format photographs of collected school girls’ notes. This work marks an investigation of the significance of language in adolescent girl culture, specifically the powerful, covert modes of communication within their social network. In this work, the often trivialized social practice of note-passing is enlarged for inspection and contemplation.
