In the Legendary Teens project, Mallett interviewed and photographed 50 teens in the Tsawwassen White Spot.  This work was an investigation into suburban youth culture, and the particular way in which teens are in limbo between childhood and adulthood, as well as public and private spaces. This early work marks a path in Mallett’s practice, using language to investigate suburban youth culture, incorporating methods of statistical research and pseudo-sociological methods to investigate and complicate the topic of suburban youth culture.
